The 2026 Cadillac Escalade IQ puts its grille shield in the hood
Cadillac's August 9, 2023 U.S. release puts the Escalade IQ grille shield in the hood for a lower eTrunk opening and gives the lamps a vertical signature. The white 2026 car in Morristown shows a shield of dark slanted bars with a dark crest, and a tall lamp beside it.
The bars across the nose of this white Escalade IQ are easy to read as a radiator left over from a gasoline Escalade. They are the grille shield, dark bars set at a slant, with a dark crest in the center, under the white hood and above a black bumper that opens in a row of horizontal slats. A dark panel between the shield and the lamp holds a block of small rectangular segments. The lamp is a tall dark housing, with a thin clear strip along the top, a clear blade down its outer edge, and an amber marker at the bumper’s outer corner.

Cadillac’s August 9, 2023 U.S. release introduces the Escalade IQ as a 2025 model and gives the shield a job. The design team, it says, incorporated the grille shield in the hood rather than on the front fascia, for a lower liftover into the eTrunk under that hood. The same release calls the lighting a strong vertical signature for day and night: tall front daytime-running-light blades, and high and low beams set vertically. Daylight in this frame leaves the lamp unlit. The clear strip and the outer blade are the housing. The small rectangles sit in the dark panel between the shield and that housing. The release also names intelligent grille shutters that close off airflow when it is not needed, one of the aero details it ties to a lower drag figure. The shutters are not open in this photograph. The bars are.
The file calls this one a 2026 Cadillac Escalade IQ 1000E4, photographed March 1, 2026, in the United States. The rear file, the same photographer and the same minute, places the car at Open Road Cadillac of Morristown, New Jersey. March 1 is the photograph’s date. The model year is the 2026 on the file. The hood in the frame is closed, so the photograph shows the shield at the nose of the hood. It does not show the shield lifting with the panel.
Cadillac’s 2026 Escalade IQ page still lists the front storage, at 12.2 cubic feet, against the August release’s 12 cubic feet. The page’s four model names are Luxury, Premium Luxury, Sport, and Premium Sport. Sport’s grille line is an Obsidian Chrome finished grille. Luxury’s trim line is bright Galvano. The August release had split the same idea into brushed aluminum metallic on Luxury and a darkened metal finish on Sport. The bars in this frame are dark, which lines up with the page’s Obsidian Chrome line for Sport, while the photograph alone does not establish the trim. The page does not print 1000E4 as a model name.
The gate spells 1000E4
The rear file is the other view of this car, white below a black roof, with a dark spoiler over the glass. The lamp on the quarter is a tall vertical housing with horizontal red segments. The left of the gate reads ESCALADE, with IQ under it, a crest sits in the center, and the right of the gate reads 1000E4. A plate sits in a frame under the crest; the frame’s small lettering is not readable at this size.

The August release gives the taillights a sharp trailing edge and counts that edge among the aero details, with the shutters, a smooth underbody, and the shape of the wheels. The edge in this frame is the outer line of the vertical lamp. The release’s range figure, written before production, is a Cadillac estimate of 460 miles, and the footnote says an EPA estimate was not yet available. The 2026 page estimates 465 miles and 0-60 in 4.7 seconds in Velocity Max. The features page rates that mode at 750 horsepower and 785 pound-feet, both Cadillac estimates, and it describes slimline LEDs and signature vertical lighting that adapt to the road. The adaptation is not running in these daylight frames. The August release had put Velocity Max at up to 750 horsepower and 785 pound-feet, and 0-60 in less than 5 seconds.
The 2026 page starts Luxury at $127,405, Sport at $127,905, Premium Luxury at $147,705, and Premium Sport at $148,205. A line on that page says a preproduction model is shown and that the production model will vary, and another line prices a previous model year as shown at $147,700. The four starting figures above are the page’s 2026 price lines. The August release had started pricing at around $130,000 including destination, and its footnote excludes tax, title, license, dealer fees, and optional equipment from MSRP. The 2026 page says the Escalade IQ is available at Cadillac dealers. The August release set regular production to begin the following summer at Factory ZERO, GM’s Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Center. That sentence is the 2023 plan.
The same 2026 page lists two-tone paint with a black painted roof as available. The Morristown car is white below a black roof. The wheels in both frames are black and multi-spoke, with a crest in the center cap. The page’s wheel lines are 22-inch wheels on Luxury and Sport, and 24-inch wheels on Premium Sport and as an available piece. The photograph does not show the diameter.
EPA’s 2026 Cadillac list, checked November 1, 2026, includes Escalade 2WD, Escalade 4WD, and Escalade V AWD, along with CELESTIQ, CT4, CT5, LYRIQ, OPTIQ, VISTIQ, and XT5. Escalade IQ is not on that menu, and neither is Escalade IQL. NHTSA’s 2026 Cadillac list includes Escalade IQ, with Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade IQL, XT5, CT4, CT5, Lyriq, Celestiq, Optiq, and Vistiq.
