The 2026 Jeep Cherokee wears a jerrican-inspired taillight
Jeep's August 21, 2025 Brooklyn note gives the 2026 Cherokee a jerrican-inspired taillight and squared-off LED headlamps with a U-shaped daytime accent. The white Laredo shows the dark split lamp and the squared housing.
The tail lamp on this white Cherokee is a dark housing laid across the hatch seam. Red runs through the outer section, and a vertical red element sits at the seam, with another red edge on the hatch side of the lens. Centered above the lamp, the hatch reads Jeep. On the lower left, it reads 4x4, and a small dealer decal sits under that badge. The plate frame reads NEW YORK on the top line and SERVICE LOANER on the bottom.

Jeep’s August 21, 2025 note, from Brooklyn, is the U.S. introduction of the 2026 Cherokee. In it, design chief Vince Galante puts three shapes on the same car: the seven-slot grille, a boxy side profile, and a jerrican-inspired taillight. The file for this photograph calls the car a 2026 Jeep Cherokee Laredo in Bright White, paint code PW7, built in Toluca, Mexico. The note also assigns vehicle production to Toluca. The file does not give a day for the photograph. The 2026 in the file name is the model year the file claims, and the New York frame is a plate frame.
The note’s account of that front fascia is squared-off LED headlamps, and daytime running lamp accents inside them that draw a U. On this nose the housing is that squared rectangle. An angular element sits in the clear lens, an amber strip marks the outer upper corner, and a black ribbed piece drops down the body just outside the lamp. Seven dark slots fill the grille, under a Jeep script on the hood. Daylight leaves the lamp unlit, so the frame shows the housing. The U is the accent the note names.

The front file is the same photographer’s Bright White Laredo, with the same PW7 line and the same New York service-loaner frame. The front door spells CHEROKEE in black capitals. Galante’s sentence names the profile, the grille, and the taillight. The door spelling is there on the sheetmetal, on this car and on the two that follow.
LIMITED, under the same lamp
A blue Cherokee carries the same kind of dark, seam-split tail lamp. The rear quarter under that lamp reads LIMITED, in spaced capitals. CHEROKEE is on the front door again. The arches are the same squared black caps.

That file calls the car a 2026 Jeep Cherokee Limited in Hydro Blue Pearl, photographed June 14, 2026, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. June 14 is the day on the file. The Brooklyn note names Limited as a 2026 trim and starts it at $41,995, on the late-2025 dealer line it gives Limited and Overland.
The red car is the file’s 2026 Jeep Cherokee Overland in Red Hot Pearl, photographed August 8, 2026, in the same Ontario city. August 8 is the day on the file. From the front three-quarter, the door spells CHEROKEE, the wheel arch is a squared black cap, and the headlamp is the same squared housing with an amber outer corner. The note’s word for that profile is boxy. Overland starts at $44,995 in the same sentence as Limited.

The note’s other two prices are $36,995 for the entry Cherokee, including a $1,995 destination charge, and $39,995 for Laredo, including destination. Those two were set for dealers in early 2026. One propulsion system covers the model in the note: a 1.6-liter I4 turbo hybrid, 210 horsepower and 230 pound-feet, engines from the Dundee plant in Michigan, vehicles from Toluca. It calls 37 mpg combined an estimate and puts the range past 500 miles on a tank. Active Drive I 4x4 is the system it lists as standard. The white hatch reads 4x4. The Ontario files and the New York loaner are the photographs. The note is the U.S. account of the design and the trims.
EPA’s page for the 2026 Jeep Cherokee AWD, checked October 29, 2026, lists that one configuration. It labels the vehicle a hybrid, with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder, an automatic with variable gear ratios, all-wheel drive, regular gasoline, and a turbocharger. The engine descriptor is Hybrid. The ratings are 39 city, 35 highway, and 37 combined. NHTSA’s 2026 Jeep list includes Cherokee, with Wrangler, Compass, Grand Cherokee, Grand Wagoneer, Gladiator, Grand Cherokee L, Grand Wagoneer L, Wagoneer S, and Recon.
