The 2026 Mercedes-Benz E-Class from the curb

The E-Class star grille and rear-lamp motif identify the sedan family, while badges and vehicle records establish the powertrain.

The star-pattern grille and star motifs in the LED taillamps are useful ways to recognize the current U.S. E-Class sedan. Mercedes-Benz’s sedan page describes the large central emblem against a field of smaller chrome stars, surrounded by a black-panel effect. The grille’s illuminated outline is available equipment, so a dark outline does not rule out an E-Class.

Those stars also do not distinguish an E 350 from an E 450. The U.S. range includes E 350, E 350 4MATIC and E 450 4MATIC sedans, plus the separate AMG E 53 HYBRID. The shared family treatment is a design cue, rather than an engine specification. Read the model badge and confirm the VIN and original equipment when identifying a particular car.

Equipment also changes the close-up view. Mercedes lists standard AMG body styling and a standard Panorama roof on the current sedan page, but DIGITAL LIGHT is an available headlamp technology. A photograph showing an illuminated grille or special light projection should not be used to promise that feature on every 2026 sedan. The manufacturer’s exterior highlights separate the shared shape from the options.
