The 2026 R1S still wears vertical lamps

The 2026 R1S still parks with vertical stadium lamps. Rivian redid the lighting. The ovals stayed upright.

The ovals are still standing. On the 2026 R1S they bookend a thin white bar across the nose — two stadium lamps, tall, inboard of the corners. Rivian redid the lighting on the second-generation body. They left the lamps upright. From the sidewalk that is still the name.

The face is a closed panel. Compass on the hood tip. No grille hole. The bar is one LED line; Rivian put RGB units in it. The ovals do the road work. Each one is a vertical stack, and the hardware is Adaptive Drive Beam — the pattern can hold light on the road while cutting a hole around an oncoming pair. Dual, Tri, and Quad share that face. Do not read the lower mesh as a motor count.

What kept the lamps vertical is the stamp. A pack lives between 121.1 inches of wheelbase. Overall length is 200.8. That is a long stretch in a short-overhang body, so the nose can stop early and the ovals can stand up instead of lying into the fenders. Air springs hold the tank stance. Approach is 35.8 degrees. The glasshouse is a box on top of that pack — seven seats, a lid, not a coupe fall.

The tail signed the same paper. A red bar spans the gate. RIVIAN sits in spaced letters on the lid. R1S is a small stamp in the corner. From thirty feet the ovals already named it.
