The 2026 Ram 1500 still wears R-A-M on the tailgate

The 2026 Ram 1500 spells R-A-M across the tailgate. The letters name the truck. The grille surround marks the trim, and the HEMI has a separate fender badge.

The tailgate is where the 2026 Ram 1500 writes its name. On the white Laramie, chrome letters sit high on the gate, and the center brake lamp breaks that row between the A and the M. Lower on the same gate, a Laramie badge sits to one side and a 4x4 badge to the other. Ram’s 2026 design page calls the rear treatment bold R-A-M badging, and it pairs the letters with trim-specific grille surrounds and a redesigned full front fascia.

That frame is a 2025 Laramie crew cab, photographed on May 25, 2024. The Commons file identifies the truck that way. The day of the photograph is not the model year. The lettering is the badge in Ram’s February 22, 2024 announcement of the redesigned 2025 truck: a new, prominent R-A-M badge, lifted to increase its presence. The same announcement describes the front as a larger, forward-leaning grille, in eight interpretations that follow the model. The 2026 design page still lists the rear badge, and it still calls the surrounds trim-specific. EPA’s 2026 Ram 1500 page is where that model year appears in U.S. fuel-economy data.

The Limited Longhorn below is a 2026 truck, photographed on November 7, 2025, at Earnhardt Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Gilbert, Arizona. The surround is bright, the mesh behind it is dark, and the grille opening carries the same three letters. The fender says Longhorn. That script is the grade. The letters are the name.

The Warlock at the same dealer, photographed on November 21, 2025, keeps the letters and changes the surround. The grille and the letters in it are black, the tow hooks below are red, and the fender says Warlock. Those are two readings of the trim-specific surround on the 2026 page. The name across the tailgate does not change with them.

The engine is a different mark. The February 2024 announcement equipped the redesigned 1500 with the 3.0-liter Hurricane six, in standard and high-output forms, and the 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6. Ram’s June 5, 2025 announcement says the 2025 lineup had shifted to six-cylinders, and it brings the 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 back for 2026 at 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. That note lists the engine for Tradesman, Big Horn, Express, Warlock, Laramie, Rebel with late availability, Limited, and Longhorn. Each HEMI-powered 2026 Ram 1500 in the note includes its own fender badge, the Symbol of Protest, drawn as the Ram’s head pushing forward over a HEMI V-8 block. The tailgate letters are not that badge, and neither is the Longhorn or Warlock script beside the front wheel. Ram’s 2026 model page still offers one of two 3.0-liter Hurricane engines, the newly available 5.7-liter HEMI V-8, or the 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6. EPA’s 2026 table lists those and a 6.2-liter eight, and it gives the Warlock its own line on the 3.6-liter six. The June announcement also names Warlock for the HEMI. The Warlock name on the fender does not say which of those records the photographed truck matches.

The lamps take the same kind of reading. The 2026 design page lists distinct LED headlamps, and it lists LED taillamps, fog lamps, and signature daytime running lamps as available. The 2025 announcement put premium LED headlamps, including twin bi-functional projectors, on Limited and up, and it described jeweled taillamps across that lineup, with LEDs that include blind-spot monitoring available on select models. The lamps in these photographs show the shape on each truck. They do not finish that list. RamBox and the multifunction tailgate are available on the same 2026 page. The closed gate shows the letters, the Laramie badge, and the 4x4 mark. It does not show a bedside bin or which tailgate mechanism is fitted.
