The 2026 Subaru Solterra wears its star on a closed panel
Subaru's April and September 2025 U.S. notes give the 2026 Solterra a closed-panel nose, a new rear badge, and a two-tone roof on Touring XT.
Subaru’s April 16, 2025 U.S. release, from Camden, unveils the 2026 Solterra at the New York International Auto Show and gives the nose a name. The front, it says, debuts an all-new Subaru EV lighting signature: a six-star illuminated logo, redesigned headlamps, a new front bumper, and newly designed 20- and 18-inch wheels. The September 25, 2025 pricing note, also from Camden, repeats that front, with the wheel diameters written 18- and 20-inch.
The file calls this one a 2026 Subaru Solterra Premium in Midnight Tide Mica, photographed March 15, 2026, in New Castle, Pennsylvania. March 15 is the photograph’s date. The model year is the 2026 on the file and in the Camden notes. The panel between the lamps is the body color, and the six-star badge sits in the middle of it. The lamps are thin clear lenses, each with an amber segment at the outer corner. A smaller rectangular lens sits in the bumper, under the headlamp. The lower bumper is dark, and the opening in it is a row of horizontal slats. The star is on the panel. The slats are below it.

The badge in this daylight frame is a silver star on a dark oval. The release’s word for the logo is illuminated. The lamp in the badge is not lit here. The compare sheet lists LED headlights with washers as standard on Premium, Limited, Limited XT, Touring XT, and Touring XT Leather. The frame shows the lenses. It does not show a washer jet in use. The wheel is a dark cover with gray spokes and a star in the cap. The sheet gives Premium an 18-by-7.5-inch aluminum-alloy wheel with a black- and silver-finish full-wheel cover, on a 235/60R18 tire, and marks that wheel not available on the other four columns. From Limited up, the wheel is a 20-by-7.5-inch alloy with a machine finish and gray-finish spoke inserts, on a 235/50R20. The cover is what the photograph shows. The diameter is the sheet’s Premium line.
Black rails run the roof. The September note lists low-profile roof rails as standard on Premium, and it prints a 700-pound static load and a 176-pound dynamic load. The compare sheet lists roof rails on all five columns. The arch over the front wheel reads the same dark blue as the fender, and the lower bumper is darker. The September note says that on selected colors the 2026 Solterra has new body-color fenders. The compare sheet lists body color-matched wheel arch moldings as optional on every column. The photograph shows an arch in the fender’s color. It does not show whether that arch is the option.
The gate carries the name
The rear file is the same photographer, one minute later, and the page links it as the other view of this car. A thin red lamp runs the width of the gate under the glass, and spaced letters spelling SUBARU sit below it. SOLTERRA is badged on the left of the gate, and a small badge sits on the right. A dark spoiler caps the glass, and a fin sits on the roof. The plate frame reads Boardman, and the plate is an Ohio dealer tag.

The September note calls the back of the car a new rear badge and a rear gate garnish, and it says a new rear spoiler improves aerodynamic efficiency. The compare sheet’s spoiler line is a split-design roof spoiler with aerodynamic fins, standard on all five columns, Premium included. The Limited paragraph in the same September note lists a rear spoiler among the pieces Limited adds to Premium. The spoiler in this frame is on the car the file calls a Premium. The sheet and that paragraph do not use the same words for the piece, and the photograph does not assign the spoiler to one sentence.
The lower bumper is black, with a red reflector on each side. Black rails continue along the roof, the same rails as on the front frame.
Two-tone is a Touring XT line
The September note makes two-tone paint optional on Touring XT, and it says Midnight Tide Mica, Cosmic White Pearl, Harbor Mist Gray Pearl, and Smoked Carbon are available with a two-tone roof on that trim. The colors page lists five two-tone names and puts none of them on Premium, Limited, or Limited XT. Elemental Red Pearl, Two Tone is on the Touring XT list. Cosmic White Pearl, Two Tone and Midnight Tide Mica, Two Tone are on the Touring XT Leather list. Elemental Red’s two-tone line is on the colors page and absent from the September note’s four roof colors. The Pennsylvania car is one color, with a roof that matches the body.
What the panel leaves off the car
The three frames show the panel, the lamps, the gate, and the paint break. They do not show the motors. The September note rates Premium and Limited at 233 horsepower, from front and rear motors, and it rates Limited XT and Touring XT at 338 horsepower, with a 0-to-60 time under 5 seconds. Both outputs use a 74.7-kWh battery. The April release had estimated the range at more than 285 miles. The September note estimates up to 288 miles. EPA’s 2026 Solterra list has two rows, each electric and an automatic. The Solterra AWD row is 131 city, 109 highway, and 120 combined, at 28 kWh per 100 miles. The Solterra 20 AWD row is 128 city, 105 highway, and 117 combined, at 29 kWh per 100 miles. The Solterra AWD record prints 288 miles of total range. The Solterra 20 AWD record prints 278 miles. The compare sheet prints 109 highway and 131 city for Premium, and 105 and 128 for the other four columns. The pairs match. The sheet does not print the “20” from EPA’s row name.
The September price table lists Premium at $38,495, Limited at $41,395, Limited XT at $42,895, Touring XT at $45,555, and Touring XT with black and blue leather at $45,855. Each row prints SST. Premium paint is $475, two-tone paint is $495, and the two together are $970. Destination and delivery is $1,450. The note says that charge may vary in Connecticut, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont, and it prints $1,600 for retailers in Alaska. The same note says the 2026 Solterra is assembled in Japan.
Midnight Tide Mica is one of the six colors in that note, and it is one of the four colors the note allows with a two-tone roof on Touring XT. NHTSA’s 2026 Subaru list includes Solterra, with Outback, Forester, Impreza, WRX, BRZ, Crosstrek, Ascent, Trailseeker, and Uncharted.
