The 2026 Toyota RAV4 still wears a hammerhead face

Toyota divides the 2026 RAV4 into Core, Rugged and Sport design groups, so a single hammerhead grille does not represent all trims.

The hammerhead is a 2026 RAV4 design theme with several treatments. Toyota’s U.S. model release groups the sixth-generation lineup into Core, Rugged and Sport designs, so a Limited and a Woodland should not be expected to have identical grille finishes.

Core models use a paint-matched hammerhead grille. Woodland expresses the Rugged theme with a raised front peak, a black split grille, satin-black overfenders and all-terrain tires. Toyota specifies Rigid Industries LED fog lights for Woodland. These details help explain why the same model name can present a noticeably different front view.

Sport models add another variation. SE and XSE use color-keyed grille treatment with dark-chrome details and piano-black overfenders. GR SPORT has its own Functional MATRIX grille and wider flares. Toyota’s design and equipment breakdown should be read by grade rather than by the general hammerhead label.

The U.S. range is electrified with hybrid and plug-in hybrid choices, but styling groups and powertrain types are different categories. A grille finish cannot settle battery, drivetrain or charging equipment. Match the trim and powertrain in the vehicle’s factory specification before transferring a feature from one press-car photograph to another.
