The 2027 BMW 7 Series still parks with an Iconic Glow kidney. The slimmer, more vertical frame and its horizontal graphic are the sidewalk tell.
The outline is a light, not a mesh. On the 2027 BMW 7 Series the Iconic Glow kidney is slimmer and more vertical than the previous car, and the graphic in the frame runs horizontal. Body color fills in around the lamps and the grille, so the nose reads as one surface. Seventh generation. The first luxury BMW to take Neue Klasse technology. From a U.S. sidewalk that kidney is the name.
The lamps are split. An extremely slim upper element holds the daytime running lights, the side markers, and the turn signals. Optional BMW Individual crystal headlights put 12 crystal elements in each lamp. Low beam and high beam sit lower, one source each, set vertically by the air curtains and nearly invisible until lit. Adaptive LED headlights with a cornering beam are standard. Sensors and washer nozzles hide in the kidney surround. A larger matte roundel sits between two hood lines. Dingolfing builds the i7 50 xDrive, i7 60 xDrive, 740, and 740 xDrive on one line from July 2026. The 750e xDrive follows in the first quarter of 2027.
Slim lamps reach well into the rear quarters. The lenses are smoked glass with the lights off, and a chrome strip sits inside each unit. The roundel rests in a shallow recess between them. A character line runs from the front apron across the sills and gives the rear three-quarter a boat-tail.
