The 2027 BMW iX3 still wears a four-eyed face

The 2027 iX3 uses outward-slanting light elements to reinterpret BMW’s four-eyed face; illuminated kidneys are optional.

The iX3’s “four-eyed” face is BMW’s description of the new light graphic. Its U.S. launch kit describes vertical, slightly outward-slanting daytime elements with indicator functions, joined by horizontal light surfaces that extend toward the upright kidneys. This describes the production Neue Klasse iX3, rather than the earlier concept preview.

The illuminated kidney outlines are optional in that kit. They should not be treated as a requirement for recognizing an iX3 or as equipment on every photographed configuration. The redesigned roundel, upright kidneys and horizontal light surfaces establish the face even when the kidney illumination is absent.

BMW USA’s model overview identifies the U.S. vehicle as the 2027 iX3 50 xDrive. The original launch release scheduled a U.S. introduction in summer 2026, a calendar date rather than the model year itself. Keeping those labels separate avoids turning a 2025 reveal photograph into a claim that it depicts a 2027 customer delivery.

Use the whole front treatment and model record to identify the car. A pair of illuminated kidneys does not establish a battery specification, power output or option package; those require the factory configuration.
