The 2027 BMW X5 still wears double-X lights

The 2027 BMW X5 still parks with double-X light icons. The vertical kidney Iconic Glow is the sidewalk tell.

The Xs are already lit. On the 2027 BMW X5 they sit in the slim lamps as two stacked icons — low beam, daytime running, side, and turn in one element — and the kidneys beside them are vertical outlines drawn in light. BMW calls that Iconic Glow. Fifth generation. The face stands taller. From the sidewalk that is the name.

The lamps do the naming. Each housing is a flat unit with a double-X. You can switch them off and get a simpler diagonal pair. The kidneys stay upright, glowing day and night, part of the walk-up animation. Handles are Winglets in the B and C pillars, not pulls on the door skins. Classic X SAV stance, just an upright taller front. Spartanburg builds it. The iX5 is the electric sibling on the same stamp. Do not read the lower intakes as a motor count.

The tail signed the same paper. Slim lamps echo the double-X across nearly the full width. X5 is a small stamp on the lid. The wheelbase grew 2.4 inches, so the box still parks like an X. The 40 xDrive starts landing in October. The rest of the range follows in the first quarter of 2027. From thirty feet the Xs already named it.
