The 2027 Chevrolet Bolt still wears a hatch

The returning Bolt retains a compact liftgate body; the RS grille, black wheels and roof rails distinguish its appearance package.

The 2027 Bolt’s rear liftgate remains a useful body-shape cue, but it does not distinguish LT from RS. Chevrolet’s current U.S. model page shows a Marina Blue LT rear view and separate RS details. The compact tail in the title describes that shape; it does not settle whether to classify the vehicle as a hatchback or compact SUV.

The RS is the first Bolt to receive that designation. Chevrolet specifies a unique grille, black wheels and gloss-black roof rails, plus RS interior details. These are more useful distinctions than the body’s general height or a particular paint color. The manufacturer also offers different wheel and trim combinations, so an individual press-car view is not the full ordering guide.

At the rear, compare the liftgate, lamp arrangement and model badge, then use the grille and factory trim record to check an RS identification. Wheels and badges are replaceable, and the shared Bolt body does not make the trim conclusive.

The manufacturer gallery and trim descriptions support a design comparison. They do not establish that we opened the hatch, measured the cargo well or drove the car. Battery and charging specifications are separate questions and cannot be inferred from the tail’s shape.
